Frankl & Thomas Awards Scholarship To Collin Alexander

Jan 1, 2009

Greenville, SC based textile parts and machinery distributor Frankl & Thomas Inc. recently awarded its annual academic scholarship to Collin Alexander, currently a sophomore at the Citadel, in Charleston, SC. This marks the second time that Collin has received the award. An outstanding student, Collin will be the highest ranking sophomore in the school this fall, and will be the company clerk. Collin is also a member of the Citadel Lacrosse team.

Frankl & Thomas awards the $2,000 scholarship each year to any employee’s child who is enrolled in an accredited college or university and maintains at least a 3.0 grade point average. Collin is the son of VP Michael Alexander.

Company president Al Thomas said that in spite of difficult times in the textile industry Frankl & Thomas continues to support higher education and its employee’s families by awarding these scholarships. “Higher education scholarship money has been greatly reduced for many deserving, middle class families who want their children to receive the best education possible. After housing costs, education is the second largest expense for many families. We are pleased to be in a position to assist our employees children’s pursuit of higher education.”
